Spring should be when the soil temperature reaches 55 degrees F. Plant them in full sun for best results. For basil indoors, plant seedlings in potting mix-filled pots and let them grow until they produce leaves. Once plants start growing, move them into bright indirect light. After approximately three weeks, transplant them into individual containers. Continue to water them as needed.

What is a planting schedule?

A planting plan is a list of plants to be planted at different times each year. The goal of a planting calendar is to maximize plant growth and minimize stress. Early spring crops like spinach, lettuce, and peas must be sow after the last frost date. Cucumbers, squash, and spring beans are later crops. Fall crops include carrots, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and potatoes.

What month is the best time to start a garden?

The best time to plant vegetables is from April through June. This is when the soil temperature is highest and plants grow most quickly. If you live somewhere cold, it is best to wait until July or august.
